Invisibilia Podcast Is Back With A Fifth Season And It’s Better Than Ever

One of my favourite podcasts, Invisibilia, is back with a fifth season and it’s so freaking good. Invisibilia – Latin for invisible things – fuses narrative storytelling with science that will make you see your own life differently. It’s all about the unseeable forces that control human behavior and shape our ideas, beliefs, and assumptions.

Here’s how they describe the new season:

“This moment in our culture can feel fraught. From ‘fake news’ to the opioid crisis, there’s a lot of uncertainty about the future. So this season, Invisibilia helps you cure your pain, discern truth from fiction, friend from foe, and find your true love with conviction. It’s your very own Emotional Survival Guide, featuring stories about brave people fighting at the extremes: a weatherman battling a deadly tornado, teenagers dying of Facebook posts, a woman conducting a bizarre dating experiment and a man who cuts off his finger and feels…. nothing. We can’t make life easier, but we can help it make more sense!”

Listen to NPR’s Invisiblia podcast now and I highly recommend you go back and listen to them all.

NPR’s Invisibilia Podcast Season 3

NPR‘s Invisibilia podcast is back with a third season and so far, it’s as clever and well researched as previous seasons. Invisibilia is about the invisible forces that shape human behaviour – things like ideas, beliefs, assumptions, and emotions. The first two episodes in the new season challenge the way we think about how emotions are made. They haven’t given much more away about what the rest of the season will contain, except to say that all the episodes are connected to a central idea. The hosts are calling it a ‘concept album.’ If you haven’t listened to previous seasons, I urge you to do so. Be prepared to be engrossed from the start.

Season 2 of the Invisibilia podcast is due to drop on 17th June so I’m giving you time to get up to speed and listen to season 1. Invisibilia (Latin for invisible things) is about the invisible forces that control human behavior – ideas, beliefs, assumptions and emotions. It interweaves narrative storytelling with scientific research that will ultimately make you see your own life differently. I don’t have a favourite. I found all of them outstanding so start at episode 1 and work your way through all six of them. They are around an hour each. Where will you find the time? Just go to bed an hour earlier and pop your headphones in instead of watching rubbish on TV. Listen, subscribe or find out more here.
